Foreign Role:
The President is the Head of State and represents the country at crucial foreign meetings, such as the EU and G7. He is also involved in many bilateral meetings with foreign premiers.
Patronage:
The PM, under prerogative powers is able to appoint senior members of the armed forces, senior figures in the Church, senior judges, Councillors, Senior Civil Servants, and is able to appoint and dismiss Staff, appoint and dismiss ambasadors.
